Arsenal target Konsa and Barcola as Man Utd turn to £35m Sarr after midfield misses
Arsenal are pursuing Aston Villa pair Morgan Rogers and Ezri Konsa while also monitoring PSG winger Bradley Barcola, who is also attracting Liverpool's interest. Manchester United, meanwhile, have shifted focus to Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr after missing out on two midfield targets.
Arsenal are chasing a double raid on Aston Villa this summer, with Morgan Rogers and defender Ezri Konsa both firmly on Mikel Arteta’s radar, while Manchester United have pivoted to Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr after losing out on two midfield targets.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal believe Konsa can be signed for around £35 million, though Villa are said to value the England international considerably higher. Konsa has struggled to replicate his club form at the World Cup but remains an attractive option for Arteta given his positional versatility.
Arsenal are also tracking Bradley Barcola as an alternative to Rogers. The Paris Saint-Germain winger has enhanced his reputation during France’s World Cup campaign, contributing two goals and one assist — including a strike in their win over Sweden. Liverpool have also switched their attention to Barcola after stepping back from a move for Yan Diomande. PSG’s pursuit of several attacking reinforcements, including Diomande, Maghnes Akliouche, and Eli Junior Kroupi, has raised the prospect of Barcola’s departure, though the 22-year-old has remained non-committal on his future. “I am focused on the World Cup,” he said. “What will happen after that, I don’t know.”
Manchester United’s summer business has been complicated by Tottenham’s decisive move for Mateus Fernandes — a player United had been tracking — as part of a £185 million double swoop that also brought Sandro Tonali to north London. With that avenue closed, United have now turned their attention to Ismaila Sarr. According to Teamtalk, Crystal Palace value the Senegal international at £35 million. Sarr finished the domestic season in strong form and went on to score four goals and add one assist for Senegal at the World Cup before they were eliminated by Belgium.
