Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes have leaned into the social media storm surrounding Kim Kardashian’s accidental towel moment at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, releasing a tongue-in-cheek video that turned the viral incident into a punchline.

Antonelli won in Monte Carlo after converting pole position into victory, becoming the youngest driver ever to win the Monaco Grand Prix. The result extended his lead in the drivers’ championship to 66 points over Lewis Hamilton, who moved up to second in the standings with a runner-up finish. But alongside the sporting headlines, a secondary moment captured the internet’s attention: Kardashian, attending the race as a guest of seven-time champion Hamilton amid speculation of a romantic relationship between the pair, was filmed picking up a towel left behind by Antonelli following the podium champagne celebrations.

Mercedes responded with a short video in which Antonelli wanders through the garage asking teammates if anyone has seen his towel. The camera turns to George Russell, who simply replies, “No.” The clip ends with Antonelli standing over a sink with wet hands before a screenshot of Kardashian holding the towel appears on screen.

The video landed well with fans. “I hope this proves how silly everyone was acting over a towel,” one viewer commented on TikTok, acknowledging the criticism Kardashian had received online. “Admin is messy for this and I’m here for it,” wrote another, while a third added: “I can’t even describe how funny this is.”

Antonelli’s Monaco victory was his latest conversion of a front-row start into a race win, a pattern that has defined his dominant early-season form. Hamilton’s second place in Monte Carlo lifted him above Russell in the championship standings, setting up a Mercedes one-two in the title race with Antonelli firmly in control.
