Anthony Hamilton, father and former manager of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, is set to sell his entire 27-car classic car collection at Silverstone on 25 July. Managed by Iconic Auctioneers during the British Racing Drivers’ Club Classic weekend, the sale is estimated to fetch more than £3 million.

The collection is dominated by British classics, headlined by a 1994 Jaguar XJ220 carrying an estimate of £550,000 and an ultra-rare 2007 Jaguar XKSS re-creation valued at £375,000. Two Jaguar C-type re-creations — XKC001 and XKC003 — are also included, each estimated at £225,000.

Beyond the Jaguars, the line-up spans several decades and marques. A 1974 Aston Martin V8 Series 3 and a 1982 Aston Martin Lagonda Series 2 are both estimated at £100,000, while a trio of Mercedes-Benz models includes a 1960 190 SL (£120,000) and a 1989 300SL previously owned by heavyweight boxer Billy Walker (£50,000). A 2016 David Brown Automotive Speedback GT is estimated at £240,000.

Smaller British icons round out the collection, including three Austin and Morris Mini Coopers from the 1960s, a pair of Triumph Spitfires, a 1966 Mini Moke, and two David Brown Mini Remastered models.

Lionel Abbott, car specialist at Iconic Auctioneers, said the collection reflected a genuine passion for British motoring heritage. “From the Jaguar XJ220 and XKSS recreation to the Triumph prototypes, Aston Martins and Mini Cooper S models, it reflects a clear passion for British motoring at its most characterful,” Abbott said. “To present these cars at Silverstone, alongside the Hamilton Straight, feels entirely fitting.”

The auction takes place at the home of the British Grand Prix, a circuit that carries particular significance for the Hamilton family given Lewis Hamilton’s record-breaking eight victories there.
