Alex Pereira gifts sister Aline a house on his own 38th birthday
UFC heavyweight Alex Pereira marked his birthday on July 7 by giving his younger sister Aline a house in Connecticut, near their shared training camp — two weeks before she defends her Karate Combat title in Miami.
UFC heavyweight Alex Pereira celebrated his birthday on July 7 by giving his younger sister Aline a house in Connecticut, located near their training base at Teixeira MMA & Fitness. The gift came two weeks before Aline is scheduled to make the first defence of her Karate Combat 125-pound title against Juliana Velasquez at Karate Combat 62 on July 24 in Miami.
Aline, who competes as a flyweight, responded to the gesture on Instagram Stories before deleting the post. “There are gifts that change a life. Today, you gave me one of them,” she wrote. “Thank you, little brother, for so much love and generosity. May God repay you twofold for everything you do for me. Happy birthday! I love you.”
The 35-year-old has built a career across kickboxing, Karate Combat and MMA since making her professional debut in the LFA in 2022. Her most recent MMA appearance came in May, when she earned a decision over Jade Masson-Wong at the inaugural MVP MMA event — extending what is the first winning streak of her career, though all of her MMA bouts have gone the distance.
In Karate Combat, Aline has been more emphatic. She knocked out Dee Begley in the first round on her 2024 debut, stopped Amanda Torres early in 2025, and then claimed the promotion’s inaugural 125-pound title with a decision over Fani Peloumpi in July 2025. The bout against Velasquez — another former MMA fighter — will be her first title defence.
Alex Pereira, nicknamed “Poatan,” is coming off a defeat of his own. At the UFC White House event in June, he was stopped by Ciryl Gane, who claimed the interim heavyweight belt. Pereira had been attempting to become the first three-division champion in UFC history, having previously held the middleweight and light heavyweight titles. Since the loss, he has indicated he intends to remain at heavyweight for at least one more fight.
