The message is clear: this summer, Barcelona signed Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund for €20 million. Real Madrid, meanwhile, spent €140 million to secure Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig — seven times the Catalan outlay. The German came off the bench during this match and scored a goal, immediately illustrating the value of his modest acquisition price.

On the other side, Yan Diomandé is still struggling to convince in the white shirt. Started for the first time last weekend after five substitute appearances, the young Ivorian international has yet to justify his record investment, fueling questions in Spain about the wisdom of Madrid’s spending.
