World Rugby confirms 29 training venues across Australia for 2027 Rugby World Cup

World Rugby has confirmed the 29 Outdoor Training Venues that will be used by all 24 participating nations at Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia, with the announcement made in Perth on Friday in the presence of reigning champions South Africa — just under a year before the tournament begins.

Springboks players Ox Nche, Damian Willemse and Manie Libbok were among those who attended the event, taking part in a coaching clinic with 40 children in Perth as part of the occasion. The city is one of seven host cities for the tournament and will be home to four of the newly confirmed training facilities.

The venues are spread across the country’s major rugby centres. Sydney and Brisbane each have six Outdoor Training Venues, Adelaide has four, while Melbourne, Townsville and Newcastle each have three. In Perth specifically, UWA Rugby Club, Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex, Waterbank Training Facility and Perth Rectangular Stadium will all be available to teams.

Beyond the outdoor facilities, world-class gyms, pools and indoor training venues will also be accessible as teams move between cities in line with the match schedule.

Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Managing Director Chris Stanley said the venues were central to delivering a high-quality tournament experience. “Every great performance begins with exceptional preparation, and the selection of these Outdoor Training Venues highlights the depth and quality of the high-performance facilities Australia has to offer,” he said. “These venues will play a critical role in delivering an outstanding tournament experience for all 24 participating teams.”

Stanley also highlighted the community dimension of the facilities, noting that some open training sessions will allow local fans to watch the world’s best teams prepare. “We are proud to see venues like these helping bring Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 to life in communities across Australia,” he added.

The tournament’s 11th edition kicks off on October 1, 2027, when hosts Australia face World Cup debutants Hong Kong China at Perth Stadium. The All Blacks face Chile the following day. A 48-hour priority ticket sale is scheduled to begin on September 28, with general sale opening on October 1 — one year to the day before the opening match.
