Wallabies schedule Bledisloe, Pumas and Ireland Tests on road to home World Cup

Rugby Australia has unveiled a full slate of home Tests for the Wallabies in 2027, building toward the Men’s Rugby World Cup on home soil and featuring landmark fixtures against New Zealand, Argentina, Ireland, and South Africa.

The programme opens with a historic Anzac Day Bledisloe Cup Test against the All Blacks at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on April 25 — a fixture confirmed on June 27. The Wallabies then host Los Pumas in back-to-back Tests, at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on July 10 and in Townsville a week later, before meeting New Zealand again on July 31 at a venue still to be confirmed.

The All Blacks and Wallabies will also face each other in the Rugby World Cup pool stage — the first time the two nations have been drawn together in the tournament’s 40-year history, adding extra weight to every meeting between the sides in the lead-up.

The home schedule concludes with a Test against Ireland at Canberra’s GIO Stadium on September 18. It will be the first Wallabies match played in the capital in a decade and coincides with the 100th anniversary of the first meeting between the two nations.

Elsewhere in the 2027 calendar, the Wallabies will travel to face the All Blacks and play defending World Cup champions South Africa twice. The final fixture against the Springboks will be the 100th Test between the two sides.

“From the inaugural Anzac Day Bledisloe Cup Test match to the Rugby World Cup Final, Australian supporters in 2027 will be centre stage for the greatest celebration of the international game in its 155-year history,” Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh said.

Waugh added that the Wallabies’ programme reflects the scale of the occasion, pointing to record-breaking home Test attendances in recent years as evidence of the growing connection between the squad and Australian rugby supporters.

The Wallabies arrive at this schedule in decent form. They remain unbeaten at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville — one of the venues for the Argentina series — having beaten Japan there earlier this year before recording a first-ever series win on the road in a subsequent tour.
