Canada’s journey to the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup final is set to be revisited in a new four-part documentary series, offering behind-the-scenes access to Kévin Rouet’s side throughout their tournament campaign.

All Heart: A Rugby Story follows Canada from the early stages of the World Cup through to their final against England at Allianz Stadium, where the Red Roses claimed a 33-13 victory. The series has been directed by award-winning filmmaker Kathleen Jayme, who previously co-wrote Naomi Osaka: The Second Set and Finding Big Country.

Actor Jay Baruchel, known for BlackBerry and the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, serves as an executive producer alongside Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip. The band, long-time supporters of women’s sport in Canada, previously raised funds for the national women’s rugby team through co-branded merchandise.

All four episodes will premiere on 9 October, arriving one week before Canada’s WXV Global Series 2026 campaign resumes on home soil. The world’s third-ranked side will host England on consecutive weekends at Toronto’s BMO Field and Ottawa’s TD Place, with ticket sales for the BMO Field fixture already pointing toward a new record attendance for a standalone women’s rugby match in North America.

Canada have already played three games in the WXV Global Series in Europe, recording a win against Scotland, a draw with England, and a 21-5 loss to France in La Rochelle.

Vice-captain Alexandra Tessier spoke about the growing momentum around the team ahead of the home fixtures. “I thought we captured a lot of supporters during the World Cup last year, and this confirms that we’ve got them hooked and that they are still with us and supporting us,” she said in August. “Canadians are buying into this team and into our sport. It’s amazing to see.”

The documentary was produced in partnership with Rugby Canada, World Rugby, and Boat Rocker Studios.
