Vitinha and João Neves to Real Madrid: PSG shuts door on any negotiation
Florentino Perez mentioned a €150 million offer for a top-tier midfielder, drawing attention to PSG's Portuguese players. The Paris club responded unambiguously: no offer will be considered.
Paris Saint-Germain will not enter into negotiations for Vitinha or João Neves, regardless of any offer presented. Sources close to the club’s management and Qatar made it clear that Paris refuses even to “take part in the debate”, believing that is precisely what Real Madrid is seeking.
The matter stems from Real Madrid’s presidential election campaign. Facing his sole challenger Enrique Riquelme, incumbent Florentino Perez promised the arrival of a “Galáctico” for €150 million: a young midfielder or forward competing in the Ligue des Champions, explicitly ruling out any Premier League player, Michael Olise, Erling Haaland or Harry Kane. “The offer will concern a player of the calibre of Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaká,” he specified.
These statements immediately directed Spanish media towards PSG, and more specifically towards Vitinha and João Neves. The two Portuguese internationals occupy a central place in Luis Enrique’s system and share a decisive common point: Jorge Mendes as their agent, an intermediary who maintains excellent relations with Florentino Perez.
However, several obstacles make such a transfer highly unlikely. Vitinha is tied to PSG until 2029, João Neves until 2030. Above all, after winning two consecutive Ligue des Champions titles, the two players are presented as eager to achieve a third consecutive European title in the Paris shirt.
PSG’s response, conveyed to Cadena Cope by sources close to management, is unequivocal: the club will not discuss any offer for its two midfielders, not even at the €150 million level mentioned in Madrid. Paris believes that engaging in this debate would amount to playing Real Madrid’s game.
