Valter Walker’s stone-faced livestream during Johnny Walker’s first-round knockout of Mick Parkin at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City on Saturday raised eyebrows online — but the explanation turned out to be straightforward, if characteristically crude.

Johnny (23-10) made an emphatic heavyweight debut, finishing Parkin with a devastating knee from the clinch and earning a performance bonus in the process. His brother Valter watched the whole thing from home in Russia, yet his expression barely moved — a reaction that quickly drew attention and mockery across social media.

When fans questioned why Valter appeared so unmoved by a career-defining moment for his brother, the Brazilian offered two reasons. The first was simple: it was 1 a.m. in Russia. The second was rather less printable. Valter, who has built a reputation for sexually explicit humour involving friends and teammates, posted a graphic explanation on social media that left little to the imagination about how he had spent his evening before the fight.

Valter (16-1) has submitted his last five opponents and is now joined in the UFC heavyweight division by Johnny, whose knockout of Parkin announced him as a credible presence at 265 pounds. The Walker brothers now share the same roster, with Valter’s unbeaten recent run making him one of the division’s more intriguing prospects.

The episode is unlikely to be the last time Valter’s off-colour sense of humour generates headlines — but for once, the story behind the reaction was arguably more entertaining than the reaction itself.
