Isaac Moreno capped the most eventful night of his career by winning a UFC contract and getting married on the same evening, after outpointing Reginaldo Geraldo Jr. (11-2) by unanimous decision in a welterweight bout at Dana White’s Contender Series 2026, Week 5.

Moreno, who entered the fight on just 10 days’ notice, improved to a perfect 9-0 and earned the contract despite UFC CEO Dana White revealing he had to argue with the promotion’s matchmakers to get Moreno on the card. The fight itself was hard-fought, but Moreno’s distance management proved the decisive factor.

“My distance management, being able to enter and exit quickly,” Moreno said in his post-fight interview. “We had to game plan for this guy fast, because it was on 10 days’ notice. I had to battle the weight cut. That taken into consideration, I never have a problem with my gas tank and I’ve never been tested with my chin. Everyone saw that I can take a punch and go right back to work.”

With the contract secured, Moreno — nicknamed “Primetime” — then dropped a second announcement that caught virtually everyone off guard, including his own parents. He revealed he was marrying his fiancée, Luna Garcia, at 9:30 p.m. that same night and extended an open invitation to fans to attend.

“We’re getting married today at 9:30, right after this,” Moreno said. “I’m just letting my parents know. Nobody knew, but I’m marrying my fiancée tonight at 9:30. Let’s pack the house, guys.”

The combination of a short-notice fight, a perfect record, a UFC deal, and a same-night wedding made Moreno one of the more memorable Contender Series graduates in the show’s history. White’s willingness to push for the contract despite internal resistance underlines the impression Moreno left on the promotion’s leadership.
