Luis Hernandez, a Dade County police officer, secured a UFC contract by submitting Hugo Guillon via rear-naked choke at 1:01 of the second round at Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10, Week 6 on 15 September at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. The middleweight victory lifted Hernandez’s professional record to a perfect 8-0.

The bout opened at a high tempo, with Hernandez immediately closing the distance and taking Guillon to the canvas. Guillon worked back to his feet and responded with a judo throw that put Hernandez down, signalling that the Frenchman would not be an easy night’s work.
