Unbeaten Bulaid faces Visconde as Aline Pereira makes DWCS debut at UFC Apex
Ilias Bulaid carries a perfect 9-0 record into his Dana White Contender Series main event against Erick Visconde at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. In the co-main, Alex Pereira's sister Aline makes her DWCS debut against unbeaten Smilla Sundell.
Ilias Bulaid put his unblemished 9-0 professional record on the line against Erick Visconde in a featherweight main event at Dana White’s Contender Series on Tuesday night at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Visconde entered the bout riding a four-fight winning streak, giving the matchup a sharp edge between two fighters in the form of their careers. A contract with the UFC was the prize on the line for the winner, as it is for every fighter who steps into the Contender Series cage.
The co-main event carried its own headline. Aline Pereira, sister of reigning UFC light heavyweight and former middleweight champion Alex Pereira, made her DWCS debut in a bantamweight contest against Smilla Sundell. Sundell arrived with a perfect 2-0 record, and Pereira was tasked with handing the prospect her first career defeat.
Also on the five-bout main card, Will Rentz met Luis Francischinelli, Douglas da Lapa faced Davi Cabral, and Jason Asher squared off against Greg Foster.
Heading into Tuesday’s card, this season of the Contender Series had produced 42 UFC contract offers across nine weeks of action, with four contracts awarded the previous week.
