Salhahuddin Everett knocked out Ozzy Martin in the first round on Dana White's Contender Series Season 10 to earn a UFC deal, yet the unbeaten 29-year-old is still showing up to work as White's personal runner — despite his boss suggesting he quit.

Salhahuddin Everett went 5-0 and punched his way into the UFC with a first-round knockout of Ozzy Martin on Week 9 of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10 — then turned up for work the next morning anyway.

The 29-year-old has spent years working inside the UFC organisation, starting in security before becoming White’s personal runner, a role that includes stocking the promotion president’s fridge. Even after securing one of the most coveted contracts in MMA, Everett has no intention of walking away from the day job.

“I’ve been working,” Everett told TMZ Sports. “I worked yesterday and I worked today. I’m at work right now, actually. I love my job, so it’s not like I was working so hard to get away from stocking Dana’s fridge. Dana’s been blessing me in this position, and yeah, some days are stressful, but it’s work, you know? I’m a working man; I’m not lazy. I like to be here.”

White had publicly suggested Everett should step away from his office duties to concentrate fully on his fighting career now that a UFC contract is in hand. Everett, however, appears unmoved by the advice — at least for now.

The unbeaten prospect’s decision to maintain both roles is a rare sight in a sport that demands full-time commitment at the highest level, and it underlines the loyalty Everett clearly feels toward the organisation that gave him his start long before he ever threw a punch on its biggest stage.
