The UFC will air historical and patriotic vignettes between fights at its White House event on June 14, replacing the promotional reels that typically fill time between bouts on a standard card. The show takes place outdoors on the south lawn of the White House before an invitation-only crowd, with Ilia Topuria defending against Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title unification bout as the main event.

UFC CEO Dana White framed the programming shift as a deliberate response to the occasion — America’s 250th anniversary — rather than a political statement. “What this fight is really all about, and why we’re doing it at the White House, is it’s the 250th birthday of America,” White told The Hollywood Reporter. “From the first fight of the night until the main event, we will tell the story of America.”

White was direct in pushing back against the idea that the venue carries a partisan message. “You’ve got the far right, you’ve got the far left, and people thinking that this is going to be like some type of political thing. This is the 250th birthday of America. That’s the story that we’re going to tell. If you are American, this is relevant to you as an American. Everybody, no matter what your politics are, or any of that other bullshit.”

Craig Borsari, the UFC’s head of production and chief content officer, confirmed the patriotic direction without offering specific details about the segments themselves. “This is a very patriotic moment for us to integrate a little bit about the history of this country, a little bit about celebrating our heroes and celebrating our independence,” Borsari said.

The approach mirrors what the UFC did for Noche UFC at the Sphere in Las Vegas, where custom vignettes tied to the event’s theme replaced standard between-fight content. That event used the format to celebrate Mexican heritage; the White House card applies the same production philosophy on a considerably larger stage.

The card features seven fights in total, with commentary assignments and other broadcast details expected to be confirmed in the days before the event.
