Tottenham target £80m Kroupi as Spurs eye one of their biggest spending windows ever
Bournemouth winger Eli Junior Kroupi heads Tottenham's shortlist for a left forward role, with Spurs also exploring moves for Rafael Leao and Savinho as their summer outlay edges toward £350m under Roberto De Zerbi.
Tottenham Hotspur have identified Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi as their primary target for a left forward position, with the 20-year-old heading a three-player shortlist as Spurs continue one of the most ambitious spending windows in the club’s history. Bournemouth are holding out for a fee north of £80m for the winger, and Tottenham face stiff competition from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
Roberto De Zerbi has been strongly backed by Spurs’ new football leadership, who are intent on overhauling a squad that has flirted with relegation in each of the last two seasons despite winning the Europa League. The club have already agreed deals for West Ham’s Manuel Fernandes and Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali — two central midfielders whose combined cost is reported to be in the region of £185m — and attention has now shifted to the attacking third.
Beyond Kroupi, Tottenham have held informal discussions with AC Milan over Rafael Leao, while Savinho of Manchester City remains a possibility after Spurs pushed hard for the winger last summer. The club are also in ongoing dialogue with Manchester City regarding goalkeeper James Trafford, according to previous reporting.
Defensively, Spurs have already bolstered their backline. Jan Paul Van Hecke has joined from Brighton for £52m despite having just one year remaining on his contract at the Amex Stadium, while Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka have all arrived on free transfers.
Should Fernandes, Tonali, Trafford, and a player of Kroupi’s calibre all complete moves to north London, Tottenham’s total outlay for the window could reach approximately £350m — a figure that would rank among the largest single-summer spends in the club’s history. A striker signing is also being considered, with the club looking to upgrade on Richarlison and Dominic Solanke.
De Zerbi has reportedly made clear he wants his key signings in place before pre-season begins, giving the club’s recruitment team a tight window to conclude what would be a transformative summer.
