Strasbourg signs Jacobo Ortega, Youth League final goalscorer with Real Madrid
Racing Club de Strasbourg have officially announced the arrival of Spanish striker Jacobo Ortega, 20, who was trained at Real Madrid. The centre-forward, who scored 18 goals for Madrid's reserve team last season, has signed until 2031, with a buyback clause in favour of the Spanish club.
Racing Club de Strasbourg have officially announced the arrival of Jacobo Ortega, a 20-year-old Spanish striker trained at Real Madrid, on a contract until 2031. The Alsatian club stated in its press release that he is a “pure product of La Casa Blanca’s academy”.
Ortega arrives in Alsace on the back of a solid 2024-2025 season with Real Madrid’s reserve team: 18 goals to his name, and a goal scored in the Youth League final, won against Club Bruges on penalties (1-1, 2-4 a.e.t.). This striker profile apparently convinced Strasbourg’s management, who continue to bolster their squad with young talents with high potential following the summer arrivals of Giovanni Reyna, Filip Jorgensen and Fabio Balde.
According to L’Équipe, Real Madrid negotiated the insertion of a buyback clause in the player’s contract, a mechanism already used by the Spanish club when Nico Paz departed. This provision reflects Madrid’s continued interest in their former prospect. Ortega is expected to train on Tuesday.
