Simon Jordan savages Piers Morgan's Ronaldo bias live on air: 'Putting balance into your bull****'
Simon Jordan and Kaveh Solhekol challenged Piers Morgan's defence of Cristiano Ronaldo on Football Uncensored, pointing out that Portugal's only major trophy — Euro 2016 — was won while Ronaldo was injured and off the pitch.
Simon Jordan told Piers Morgan he needed to “bring balance to his bull****” during a heated on-air debate about Cristiano Ronaldo’s international legacy, after the 41-year-old walked out of the Portugal camp following a falling-out with coach Jorge Jesus over playing time.
Morgan opened his defence of Ronaldo on Football Uncensored by declaring him “indisputably the best Portuguese player” in history. Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol immediately pushed back, arguing that a credible case could be made for Eusébio — prompting Jordan to joke that Morgan would not even know who Eusébio was.
Morgan then pointed to Portugal’s trophy haul under Ronaldo, citing Euro 2016 and two UEFA Nations League titles. Solhekol dismissed the Nations League wins as insufficient evidence, before delivering the sharpest rebuttal: “Portugal won one international trophy, Euro 2016 — Ronaldo wasn’t even on the pitch. He was injured. They won it without him.”
Jordan backed up the point, telling Morgan: “No one’s beating Cristiano over any sticks, they’re just putting balance into your bull****.” He added that inconvenient facts simply “don’t suit” Morgan’s agenda, given the broadcaster’s well-documented devotion to Ronaldo.
Morgan refused to concede ground, accusing his co-panellists of making “extraordinary attempts to belittle the greatest player to play the game.” Solhekol countered by raising Diego Maradona and noting that Ronaldo has never won a World Cup, to which Jordan quipped: “Facts don’t mean anything to Piers.”
The debate was framed by Ronaldo’s recent departure from the Portugal squad. The veteran forward had been promised more game time by Jesus, who took charge after Portugal’s last-16 exit at the 2022 World Cup, but left camp when that assurance was not honoured. Morgan concluded by arguing that Jesus should be “thanking Ronaldo” for his continued commitment in the twilight of his international career.
