Simeone built a £34m Madrid property empire alongside his Atletico career
Diego Simeone has accumulated a portfolio of more than 180 Madrid homes and seven entire buildings worth around £34m, with his wife Carla Pereyra fronting the main property company, Carpersim SL.
Diego Simeone has quietly assembled a £34 million property empire in Madrid, owning more than 180 homes and seven entire buildings alongside his role as one of football’s highest-paid managers.
The scale of the Atletico Madrid boss’s real estate holdings was revealed by Spanish investigative television programme Equipo de Investigacion, presented by Gloria Serra. According to financial statements filed with the Mercantile Registry, the assets held by the couple’s main property company, Carpersim SL, are valued at approximately €39.7 million — just under £34 million.
Simeone, who earns around £14 million per year after recently taking a pay cut from a previous salary of £17 million annually, has diversified his wealth by building a portfolio concentrated largely in flats in the heart of the Spanish capital. His wife, former model and presenter Carla Pereyra, is listed as the public face of Carpersim SL. Lifestyle commentator Cote Villar, speaking on the programme, described Pereyra — who has a family background in architecture — as the “driving force behind the business” who “knows the sector well.”
The couple reportedly expanded their interests further in 2024 by forming a second company, Tres Cantos 1415, through which they acquired a plot of land in northern Madrid with plans to develop additional properties, including student accommodation. Villar noted that the firm’s most recent financial statements, covering the 2024 fiscal year, show assets valued at around €40 million.
Property ownership has become a politically sensitive issue in Spain amid widespread complaints about high prices, a housing shortage, and evictions, lending the revelations additional public interest beyond the football world.
On the pitch, Simeone’s Atletico side are in strong form domestically, sitting second in La Liga — five points behind Barcelona, who have won eight of their opening eight matches. Atletico returned from the international break with a 2-1 victory at Alaves on Saturday.
