Silva predicts two-round finish as he headlines Noche UFC 4 against late-replacement Delgado

Jean Silva is not planning for a long evening when he headlines Noche UFC 4 against Jose Delgado on 12 September at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The Brazilian, ranked 6-1 inside the Octagon, says he does not expect the featherweight main event to last beyond two rounds.

Delgado (12-2) entered the bout as a late replacement after Yair Rodriguez pulled out through injury, and arrives as a significant underdog. He has won his last two fights — against Andre Fili and Austin Bashi — and is 4-1 in the UFC since earning his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. His only Octagon defeat came in a narrow decision loss to Nathaniel Wood.

Silva (17-3) is coming off a win over Arnold Allen and has made no secret of his confidence heading into fight week. He also staked a cultural claim on the event, which serves as the UFC’s annual celebration of Mexican Independence Day.

“He’s not from Mexico,” Silva said. “I am gonna represent Mexico on Saturday. I hope we can at least do at least two rounds. Let’s see.”

The comment carries a pointed edge: Silva is Brazilian, yet he is positioning himself as the fighter carrying the spirit of the occasion — a framing that adds an extra layer of needle to what is already a lopsided matchup on paper.

Despite his confidence, Silva said he wants to give fans value for money and is hoping for at least ten minutes of action before a finish.
