Ruziboev chokes out Pulyaev in under four minutes to extend UFC win streak to three
Nursulton Ruziboev secured his third consecutive UFC victory at UFC Baku on Saturday, submitting Andrey Pulyaev with a rear-naked choke at 3:58 of the first round to improve his promotional record to 5-1.
Nursulton Ruziboev extended his UFC winning streak to three with a clinical rear-naked choke submission of Andrey Pulyaev at UFC Baku on Saturday, finishing the fight at 3:58 of the first round on the preliminary card.
Ruziboev was relentless from the opening exchanges, repeatedly hunting for chokes on the mat before finally locking in the rear-naked choke that left Pulyaev’s eyes rolling back as the referee stepped in to end the contest.
The 32-year-old Uzbek middleweight has quietly built a 5-1 promotional record since joining the UFC, with his three-fight win streak including victories over Dustin Stoltzfus and Eric McConico. His only loss in the promotion came at welterweight against Joaquin Buckley at UFC St. Louis in May 2024.
Ruziboev now sits at 37-9-2 overall with two no-contests on his record, and his return to the middleweight division has produced three straight finishes. Saturday’s performance underlined his credentials as a genuine contender in a division that remains one of the UFC’s most competitive.
