Ronda Rousey publicly mocked UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell on Thursday after viewership figures revealed that MVP MMA 1 averaged 9.3 million domestic viewers, outpacing the UFC White House event’s average of 7 million.

“Lmao! Kiss my ass Hunter Campbell,” Rousey wrote in response to the UFC’s announcement of its White House numbers.

The figures reignite a feud that helped drive Rousey’s return to MMA competition for the first time in a decade. According to Rousey, Campbell made disparaging remarks about her and women’s MMA when she first approached the UFC about a comeback — comments that she cited as a primary motivation for staging a rival event outside the promotion. That event, MVP’s debut MMA card in May, featured Rousey against Gina Carano in the main event.

The raw numbers favour Rousey’s camp, though context matters. Netflix, which carried MVP MMA 1, commands a substantially larger subscriber base than Paramount+, which aired the UFC White House event. The UFC card also took place on a Sunday rather than the traditional Saturday slot, a scheduling factor that typically suppresses live viewership. Additionally, the UFC has yet to release international figures for its White House show, which could narrow the gap considerably given the promotion’s global footprint and the presence of President Donald Trump at the event.

MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian struck a more measured tone after the UFC numbers were published, congratulating both promotions and framing the results as a collective win for the sport. “UFC is by far the most dominant brand — the reference brand for the sport of MMA,” Bidarian wrote. “For MVP MMA to be in the same ballpark of viewership for their biggest event ever is damn good. Don’t care who was higher. Congrats to all.”

Rousey, for her part, appears in no mood for diplomacy. Her response suggests the personal dimension of this rivalry with Campbell remains very much alive, regardless of how the broader numbers are ultimately interpreted.
