Ronaldo sends mocking text to journalist to defend Piers Morgan
Cristiano Ronaldo sent a message to Simon Jordan, a rival of his friend Piers Morgan, comparing him to "an apple" with Botox. Morgan read the text live in front of his interlocutor.
Cristiano Ronaldo came to the defence of his friend Piers Morgan by sending a cutting text to Simon Jordan, a British journalist who had criticized Morgan’s lack of objectivity towards CR7. The message, revealed live by Morgan himself, quickly went viral on social media.
The context was a televised debate between the two journalists, during which Jordan had criticized Morgan’s closeness to the Al Nassr striker. That’s when Ronaldo, 41, intervened from his phone. “This blonde guy, tell him to stop the Botox. He looks like an apple,” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner reportedly wrote in his message.
Piers Morgan was quick to read the text aloud, in front of Jordan. “These are the latest breaking news from Cristiano Ronaldo. You are an apple. A blonde apple with a strangely smooth face,” he commented, triggering laughter from both protagonists.
This episode comes at a turbulent time for Ronaldo, who has not played for two weeks and is going through a period of turmoil with the Portuguese national team. After the drama surrounding his departure from Jorge Jesus’s squad, the player released a statement to present “his truth”, leaving his future with the Seleção in question.
