Richarlison agrees Trabzonspor move that would triple his Spurs wages

Richarlison has reportedly agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor, with the Turkish club prepared to triple the Tottenham forward’s current wages of around £100,000 per week. Spurs, however, have yet to sanction a transfer fee, having already knocked back two offers of £15m and £20m from the Super Lig side.

The Brazilian’s future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been the subject of prolonged speculation throughout the summer window. He was heavily linked with a return to former club Everton, but those talks stalled amid negotiations over Iliman N’Diaye, who eventually joined Manchester City on deadline day.

With the English transfer window now closed, the Turkish window remains open until midnight on September 4, leaving a narrow path for the deal to be completed. According to Transfermarkt, a move to Trabzonspor would see Richarlison partner Mohamed Salah in attack.

Richarlison made his feelings public during the window, posting a statement on Instagram — translated from Portuguese — in which he called on Spurs to respect his situation. “I’ve always made it clear, at every opportunity, that any move of mine to another place would also have to be good for the club,” he wrote. “If it wasn’t, I would never accept it. Just like I didn’t accept it when everything here was falling apart and they needed me. I stayed and gave my life. So, I hope they treat my situation with the same respect that I’ve always had for the Spurs and for all the people who worked with me during this period. Just don’t try to decide for me.”

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi had acknowledged during pre-season that the 29-year-old was keen to leave, while also making clear that Everton was not the striker’s preferred destination.

Spurs moved to address their attacking options on deadline day by signing Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk on loan. The Ukrainian previously worked closely with De Zerbi at Shakhtar Donetsk and arrives as part of a window in which Tottenham broke their record transfer expenditure.
