PSG set £128m asking price for Barcola as Liverpool weigh up move for winger
Paris Saint-Germain have placed a £128 million price tag on Bradley Barcola, according to L'Équipe, with Liverpool and Arsenal both reported as front-runners for the 23-year-old France international.
Paris Saint-Germain are demanding £128 million for winger Bradley Barcola, according to French outlet L’Équipe, with Liverpool and Arsenal identified as the leading clubs pursuing the 23-year-old this summer.
The report suggests Barcola could become available if PSG complete a deal for Yan Diomande, who is believed to have already agreed personal terms with the Parisian club. That sequence of events would, in theory, open the door for one of the English sides to move.
Liverpool’s interest in Diomande had been previously reported, but PSG appear to have won that race. The Reds have so far made only one senior addition this window, with Victor Munoz arriving from Osasuna. Jeremy Jacquet, who signed in January, has also officially completed his move to the club.
New head coach Andoni Iraola visited Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre in Kirkby this week to begin assessing his squad ahead of the new season. He is expected to be active in the market, and Barcola has repeatedly been linked as a priority target for the left wing.
Arsenal’s reported interest in Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers could also be a factor. Should the Gunners redirect resources toward Rogers, Liverpool may find themselves with less competition for Barcola’s signature — though the £128m valuation remains a significant barrier regardless.
PSG are also said to be pursuing Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, a move that could further reduce Barcola’s playing time in Paris and increase his motivation to seek a transfer.
Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey backed the club to make a move, arguing Barcola offers the directness the side has lacked on the left flank since Luis Díaz’s departure. Former Everton and Manchester United forward Louis Saha also spoke highly of the player, describing his achievements at 23 — including Champions League success — as “staggering”.
Whether Liverpool are willing to meet PSG’s valuation remains to be seen. At £128m, Barcola would represent one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.
