PSG have reportedly opened discussions over a transfer for Ferran Torres, Barcelona’s forward, according to several transfer specialists. The news emerged hours after Spain’s victory over Belgium, just days before a 2026 World Cup semi-final against France.

At Barcelona, the context is pushing for an overhaul of the attacking line this summer. Robert Lewandowski left the club at the end of his contract, Anthony Gordon officially joined from Newcastle, and Karim Adeyemi (Dortmund) is being pursued as a serious target. Ferran Torres, whose contract runs until 2027, could therefore be pushed towards an exit as part of this reshuffling.

On the Paris side, the club is seeking a successor to Gonçalo Ramos, sold to AC Milan. Torres would fit this need: a versatile forward capable of playing across multiple attacking positions, though he presents a different profile from the Portuguese player, recognized as a pure number 9. His relationship with Luis Enrique is a significant asset in this matter: the PSG manager was his coach at the 2022 World Cup, a period when Torres was in a romantic relationship with his daughter.

PSG are also active on other fronts: Maghnes Akliouche (Monaco) is expected to compensate for Kang-In Lee’s departure, while Yan Diomandé (Leipzig), highly sought after, could have an impact on Bradley Barcola’s future at the club.

The France-Spain semi-final will therefore take on added significance for Parisian players already present in both squads — Dembélé, Doué, Barcola, Zaïre-Emery and Lucas Hernandez on the French side, Fabian Ruiz on the Spanish side — and perhaps soon for Torres himself, should negotiations succeed.
