Premiership Women’s Rugby resumes this weekend with Round 17 fixtures that will go a long way to settling the final two semi-final berths, as clubs welcome back a wave of internationals from the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations and associated tournaments.

Gloucester Hartpury and Saracens have already secured home semi-finals after strong opening runs of 16 rounds, with the three-time consecutive champions leading the standings. Behind them, Exeter Chiefs, Trailfinders Women, Sale Sharks, Harlequins and Loughborough Lightning are locked in a battle for the remaining knockout places, with only two rounds of regular-season rugby left to play.

The international window drew in players from four competitions — the Guinness Women’s Six Nations, the Pacific Four Series, the Rugby Europe Women’s Championship and the Rugby XV Women’s Trophy — meaning squads across the league are now at or near full strength for the run-in.

This weekend’s schedule opens with Gloucester Hartpury travelling to Trailfinders Women in West London, a fixture that pits the reigning champions against one of the sides still fighting for a semi-final place. Bristol Bears host Exeter Chiefs in a match that could prove decisive for the Chiefs’ top-four hopes, while Leicester Tigers make the trip to Harlequins. Saracens, meanwhile, head to the East Midlands to face Loughborough Lightning.

With two rounds remaining before the knockout stage, every point carries weight. The returning internationals add considerable depth and quality to each matchday squad, and the clubs that integrate those players most quickly are likely to hold the advantage heading into the final regular-season fixture.
