Premier League releases full Christmas and New Year fixture schedule after fan pressure

The Premier League has confirmed its full Christmas and New Year fixture schedule, releasing the festive calendar earlier than last season following sustained pressure from clubs and supporter groups.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and all 20 top-flight clubs now know their holiday programme, which runs from Boxing Day on 26 December through to 7 January 2027. United were among the clubs that pushed hardest for the earlier announcement, with club officials holding talks with the Premier League and broadcasters to argue that supporters needed more notice to arrange travel to matches.

The Football Supporters’ Association was also involved in those discussions, lending weight to the campaign to bring forward the schedule’s publication — a move that came roughly a month earlier than the equivalent announcement last season.
