Didier Deschamps has not yet found a new position since leaving the French national team following the 2026 World Cup, replaced by Zinedine Zidane. The former national team manager has nonetheless been clear: he has no intention of retiring.

During the summer, his name was linked with Real Madrid, Saudi clubs and the Italian national team, without any of these leads materializing. It is now Manchester United where supporters are discussing his profile, following a sluggish start to the season for the Red Devils.

Eliminated from the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening by Brighton (2-3), Manchester United have placed their manager Michael Carrick under pressure. On social network X, several fans have spontaneously called for the arrival of the 1998 World Cup winner. “Didier Deschamps at Manchester United, who says no?” one of them writes. “Former players don’t work at Manchester United, take Didier Deschamps or Julian Nagelsmann or Antonio Conte,” adds another. A third sums up the argument: “You need a manager who has won the biggest trophies and who can handle the pressure.”

These calls remain for now the work of supporters, with no confirmation of an official approach from the club or interest expressed by Deschamps himself. Old Trafford’s management has not commented on their manager’s situation.
