Brian Ortega has pulled out of UFC 331 with an undisclosed injury, forcing the cancellation of his lightweight bout against Renato Moicano from Saturday’s card in Los Angeles, UFC officials announced Monday.

Moicano will not go without a fight, however. The UFC has moved him to the main event of the UFC Fight Night card on Oct. 31 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, where he will face rising lightweight contender Tom Nolan.

The removal of Moicano vs. Ortega trims UFC 331 to 12 bouts. The heavyweight matchup between Gable Steveson and Sean Sharaf now opens the main card in its place.

The headline attraction at UFC 331 remains unchanged: flyweight champion Joshua Van defends his belt against former titleholder Alexandre Pantoja in what shapes up as the card’s marquee contest.
