Lando Norris holds a 16-8 qualifying edge over McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri through the 2025 Formula 1 season, with the gap standing at 0.246 seconds in Q3 at the United States Grand Prix in Austin.

Stripping out sprint qualifying sessions, Norris leads 11-7, underlining a consistent pattern across a campaign that has seen the Briton outpace his Australian team-mate in the majority of conventional qualifying rounds.

At Mercedes, rookie Kimi Antonelli claimed the upper hand over George Russell at the United States GP, trimming Russell’s season-long advantage to 13-11. Without sprint sessions factored in, Russell leads 11-7, though Antonelli has shown growing confidence in single-lap pace as the season has progressed.

Max Verstappen continues to dominate his side of the Red Bull garage. The four-time world champion leads Isack Hadjar 16-4 on the season — 11-4 excluding sprints — with Hadjar failing to set a representative lap in Q1 in Austin after going off. Verstappen posted a Q3 time 0.036 seconds clear of his team-mate where both completed representative laps.

At Red Bull’s sister team, Verstappen’s former team-mate Liam Lawson has been replaced in the head-to-head standings. The updated record shows a separate 4-0 qualifying tally — 3-0 without sprints — in the relevant comparison column, reflecting the team’s driver changes across the season.

These standings are compiled exclusively on qualifying results, with grid penalties excluded to ensure the numbers reflect pure single-lap performance. Where a driver was unable to set a representative time due to a technical issue, incident, or track limits infringement, the circumstances are noted alongside the result.
