Nice and Lorient Draw Goalless in Ligue 1 Opener
Nice and Lorient shared the points on the opening day of Ligue 1, finishing their match 0-0 on Saturday.
Nice and Lorient opened their Ligue 1 season with a goalless draw (0-0) on the opening day of the championship played on Saturday.
The two teams failed to break the deadlock despite attacking lineups. On Nice’s side, Diallo and Diop were deployed in attack behind Hein, with Clauss and Bard on the wings. Lorient relied on an attacking trio made up of Le Bris, Bernardeau and Koné.
Nice goalkeeper Diouf was not called upon decisively, just as his Lorient counterpart Mvogo. Nice’s central defence, formed by Ndayishimiye and Mandza, held firm against Lorient’s attacks, while the Talbi-Adjei partnership locked down the axis for Lorient.
This point apiece leaves both clubs with one point each on the standings at the start of the season. Nice and Lorient will need to raise their attacking level in the coming matches if they hope to establish themselves in the upper reaches of the table.
