Netherlands face Morocco in World Cup last-16 race with Koeman's side topping Group F
Ronald Koeman's Netherlands, who topped Group F ahead of Japan and Sweden, take on Group C runners-up Morocco in a World Cup round-of-16 qualifier. The two sides have met just twice before, with the Dutch winning both encounters 2-1.
Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands enter their World Cup round-of-16 qualifier against Morocco as Group F winners, having finished above Japan and Sweden. Morocco, meanwhile, qualified as runners-up in Group C behind Brazil, setting up a tie at the Estadio Monterrey that kicks off at 2am UK time.
The two nations have a limited head-to-head history, meeting only twice previously — in 1994 and 2017 — with the Netherlands winning both matches 2-1. Koeman’s side will be looking to maintain that record as they push for a place in the knockout rounds.
Laura Woods presents ITV’s coverage from the studio in Brooklyn, joined by former Everton striker Duncan Ferguson as pundit. Seb Hutchinson takes up commentary duties from the gantry at the Estadio Monterrey, with Andros Townsend alongside him on co-commentary.
The winners of the tie will advance to face co-hosts Canada in the last-16 on 4 July at Houston Stadium.
