Nemkov defends PFL heavyweight title against Team Fedor teammate Bilostenniy in Dubai

Vadim Nemkov will put his PFL heavyweight championship on the line against Sergey Bilostenniy in the main event of PFL Dubai on November 14 at Coca-Cola Arena. The bout marks Nemkov’s first title defense since capturing PFL gold last December.

Nemkov (20-2), a protégé of Fedor Emelianenko and former Bellator light heavyweight champion, moved up to heavyweight in 2024 before claiming the PFL belt. He now faces a challenger who knows him well: Bilostenniy (15-4) trains under the same Team Fedor banner and has previously shared training camps with the champion.

Bilostenniy, ranked third in the PFL heavyweight division, holds a 4-1 record in the promotion and has built his résumé with finishes over Karl Williams, Tyrell Fortune, and former PFL champion Renan Ferreira.

The card also carries broader significance for the promotion. It will be the first PFL main event held in Dubai since the organisation’s merger with Most Valuable Promotions.

“Dubai has become a special city for PFL and the site of some unforgettable moments in our history,” PFL CEO John Martin said. “Both fighters have roots in Team Fedor and represent the next generation of Russia’s storied heavyweight tradition and now they’ll meet to determine who sits atop one of the most prestigious divisions in combat sports.”

The shared training background between Nemkov and Bilostenniy adds an unusual layer to the matchup. Fighters who have sparred together and studied the same system rarely meet at championship level, giving both men an intimate knowledge of the other’s tendencies heading into November.
