Manchester City and Everton are closing in on a double deal that would see Iliman Ndiaye undergo his medical at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, with Jack Grealish set to return to Goodison Park as part of the arrangement before the summer transfer window shuts at 11pm.

City have agreed a £65m fee with Everton for Senegalese winger Ndiaye, who was previously attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old’s journey to a nine-figure move is a remarkable one — he was playing non-league football for Hyde United as recently as 2020.

Grealish, who spent a productive loan spell at Everton last season before injury cut his campaign short, had been linked with Aston Villa and Sunderland among others, but the England winger was keen to return to Merseyside and the deal is expected to be confirmed shortly.

City are also pursuing Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, though that move is considerably more complicated. Talks between the two clubs have intensified in the past 24 hours, but Chelsea’s asking price of £120m remains a significant obstacle. Fernandez has been absent from Xabi Alonso’s last two squads, heightening speculation over his future at Stamford Bridge.

On the other side of Merseyside, Liverpool are monitoring Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr, who delivered a standout season in 2024-25. Andoni Iraola is reportedly keen to strengthen his wide options further despite already completing a major signing from Paris Saint-Germain in Bradley Barcola.

Tottenham Hotspur are also expected to be active before the deadline, with several clubs across the Premier League racing to finalise negotiations, complete medicals and lodge paperwork in time. The window closes at 11pm on Tuesday.
