Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return to the octagon at UFC 329 drew 15.9 million total viewers across the U.S. and Latin America, according to Nielsen and Adobe Analytics data released Thursday. The figure falls just short of last month’s UFC White House event, which attracted 17 million viewers across the same markets, but still ranks among the biggest nights in the promotion’s history.

In terms of average viewership, UFC 329 pulled 6.5 million across both markets, compared to UFC White House’s 8.2 million. However, the McGregor card edged ahead in one significant metric: concurrent live streams. UFC 329 peaked at 8.3 million simultaneous streams during the event, surpassing UFC White House’s 7.9 million and making it the second-largest live event in Paramount+ history for that category — trailing only Super Bowl LVIII, which recorded 11.5 million concurrent streams.

To place the numbers in broader context, the first UFC card ever broadcast on FOX — a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos — averaged 5.7 million U.S. viewers and peaked at 8.8 million. By that measure, UFC 329 represents a substantial step forward for the sport’s mainstream reach.

The viewership figures carry an important caveat, however. Main events typically drive the peak audience on fight cards, and McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 lasted just 69 seconds before McGregor suffered an injury and the bout was stopped. The abbreviated finish likely limited the ceiling on both average and peak numbers. Additionally, UFC 329 aired in direct competition with the World Cup quarterfinal between Argentina and Switzerland, a scheduling clash that may have drawn away a portion of the potential audience.
