Conor McGregor has disclosed that his UFC comeback extends beyond next month’s return, confirming two contracted bouts remain on his deal — the first against Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and a second already pencilled in for April 2027.

Speaking to Yahoo! Sports, McGregor expressed frustration at the near-year gap between the two scheduled dates. “Right now, I am contracted, and I have both dates,” he said. “I have July 11 — when would you think they would put me back in? April, 2027! It’s almost a year later! That’s ridiculous to me!”

McGregor attributed the lengthy turnaround simply to “the way the contract was done,” though he made clear he would prefer to fight twice in 2026 if given the choice. “I don’t care who the opponent is. Give it to me at the end of the year,” he said. “July, end of year. Boom. Let’s go to a new deal.”

Beyond the April 2027 date, McGregor’s UFC future is uncertain. The former two-division champion said he intends to test free agency once his contract expires unless the promotion makes an “unbelievable” offer, while adding that he hopes to remain with the organisation.

“I’m happy, to an extent,” McGregor said. “There’s a lot more there. I hope it’s with the UFC. I hope we come to something. I hope I get honored even more.” On the terms already agreed, he acknowledged both sides had compromised: “We met in the middle. Was it what my worth is? Probably not. Was it what they wanted to offer? Definitely not. We met in the middle. I’m a fair operator.”

For now, McGregor’s focus is on ending a five-year absence from the cage when he faces Holloway — a bout he described as “a martial arts delight” and “a fan-favorite, iconic bout.” The 329 card marks his first appearance since suffering a broken leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
