Kylian Mbappé scored the opening goal of Zinédine Zidane’s era with France on Friday night during Les Bleus’ trip to Turkey in the Ligue des Nations, before being replaced by Désiré Doué after suffering a left knee injury.
The goal came from a high press by Rayan Cherki. Michael Olise then found his captain, who beat the Turkish goalkeeper at the near post in the 54th minute to open the scoring.
Mbappé initially tried to continue despite the pain, but the Real Madrid forward eventually had to be substituted. The exact nature and severity of the left knee injury have not yet been confirmed.
