Lyon target Jun-ho Bae, South Korean midfielder from Stoke City valued at €4m
According to Foot Mercato, Olympique Lyonnais are interested in Jun-ho Bae, attacking midfielder at Stoke City (Championship) and South Korean international who featured at the 2026 World Cup. The 22-year-old is under contract until June 2027 and would be open to a move.
Olympique Lyonnais have identified Jun-ho Bae, attacking midfielder at Stoke City, as a priority target to strengthen their midfield this summer, according to information from Foot Mercato published on Monday.
At 22 years old, Bae is a familiar face in the English Championship and a regular South Korean international since his first cap in summer 2024. He now has thirteen caps and two goals with South Korea, including a participation — without playing time — at the 2026 World Cup, a competition in which his national team was eliminated in the first round.
His versatile profile, capable of playing multiple midfield positions, is an asset in the eyes of Paulo Fonseca, who knows that Lyon’s squad will remain limited in numbers this summer. The club’s financial room for manoeuvre remains constrained, and recruits will need to offer tight value for money.
Bae is tied to Stoke City until June 2027 and his market value is estimated at four million euros. The player would be favourable to a move to Lyon. It now remains for the two clubs to agree on the terms of a transfer.
On Lyon’s side, the summer transfer window has already seen the extension of Corentin Tolisso and the signing of the first professional contract for young prospect Cluver Sambi Mbungu, but the recruitment drive is far from complete.
