Lucy Packer commits to Harlequins after England's record-extending Six Nations Grand Slam
Red Roses scrum-half Lucy Packer has signed a new deal with Harlequins, securing the 26-year-old's future at the Twickenham Stoop after she started all five matches in England's eighth consecutive Six Nations title win.
Lucy Packer has re-signed with Harlequins, the Premiership Women’s Rugby club confirmed, keeping the England scrum-half at the Twickenham Stoop for the 2025/26 season and beyond. The 26-year-old joins Maja Meuller, Kayleigh Powell, Claudia Pena and Aoife Wafer in committing her future to the West London club.
Packer made her Harlequins debut in 2018 and reached her 100th appearance for the club in February this year — a milestone she described as “incredibly special” with family and friends in attendance. She was also part of the Harlequins side that claimed a Premier 15s title in 2021.
At international level, Packer was a key figure as John Mitchell’s England secured an eighth successive Six Nations Championship this year, starting all five matches. That run included a 78-minute display in Bordeaux against France that clinched a fifth consecutive Grand Slam — and Packer was part of the squad that won the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2025.
Harlequins head coach Ross Chisholm was emphatic in his praise. “Lucy is one of the best scrum-halves in the game,” he said. “We’ve seen her take her game to another level this season for club and country. She is a key part of our squad and someone who brings calmness and precision to our game plan on pitch.”
Chisholm added that reaching a century of appearances at such a young age was “testament to her dedication and commitment to the club” and expressed confidence that Packer would continue to develop in the seasons ahead.
Packer echoed that enthusiasm. “I’m looking forward to another season wearing the quarters,” she said. “I’m excited to be running out in front of the home crowd again next season.”
The re-signing comes amid a busy period of squad movement at Harlequins. The club have also announced the incoming arrivals of England internationals Marlie Packer and Rosie Galligan, while star full-back Ellie Kildunne has departed to join Bristol Bears. In the 2025/26 PWR season, Harlequins finished fifth, four points behind fourth-place and eventual finalists Trailfinders Women.
