Joan Laporta made multiple transfer announcements from Dallas, where the FC Barcelona president was attending the 2026 World Cup semi-final between Spain and France. The most anticipated news: Karim Adeyemi’s arrival is now just a matter of hours.

“We are delighted to welcome Adeyemi,” Laporta said in comments reported by Mundo Deportivo. “We have appreciated him for some time. He is dangerous and quick, and Deco handled this signing very well.” The Borussia Dortmund winger thus joins Anthony Gordon, recruited last summer for €80 million, in a Barcelona attacking sector undergoing full reconstruction, as Robert Lewandowski has left the club.

On the departures front, Laporta closed the door to any sale of Raphinha, despite being courted in Saudi Arabia. “Raphinha will stay. We have no intention of seeing him leave Barça. He is a key player,” he said firmly. The Catalan president even anticipated the offensive synergies to come: “With Gordon and Adeyemi, we are strengthening the attack, but that does not mean we will let Raphinha leave, because he is essential for us.”

More caution, however, on the Ferran Torres matter, whom Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly targeting according to several sources. “I have heard about it, but we have no confirmation of it. He is a Barça player,” Laporta simply replied. The Spanish forward is tied to the club until June 2027, and no official negotiations have been confirmed at this stage.
