Charles Johnson and Jose Ochoa will meet in a flyweight bout at UFC 330, scheduled for 15 August at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, with Islam Makhachev defending his welterweight title against Ian Garry topping the card.

Johnson, who carries a 19-9 record, is one of the busiest fighters on the UFC roster, having already competed three times in 2026. Consistency has eluded him, however — he has alternated between wins and losses across his last six outings. His résumé includes finishes of Lone’er Kavanagh and current flyweight champion Joshua Van, but defeats to Asu Almabayev, Alex Perez, and Ramazonbek Temirov underline the volatility in his recent form. Johnson, known by the nickname “InnerG”, confirmed the booking himself on Instagram.

Ochoa arrives as a 25-year-old Peruvian prospect sitting at 9-2 overall and 2-2 inside the UFC. He heads into the bout on a positive note after earning a unanimous decision victory over Clayton Carpenter in May, and a win over the experienced Johnson would represent a meaningful step forward in his push up the 125-pound rankings.

The UFC 330 card also features a women’s strawweight title fight in the co-main event, where Mackenzie Dern challenges Gillian Robertson. The Johnson-Ochoa flyweight contest adds another layer of divisional consequence to what is shaping up as a substantial numbered event for the promotion.
