John Fury bars Darren Till from Misfits Boxing event in Manchester, prompting furious response
Darren Till has revealed he is banned from attending Saturday's Misfits Boxing card in Manchester — where Tommy Fury headlines against Eddie Hall — after John Fury reportedly had a clause written into a contract preventing Till from any event his son appears at.
Darren Till has been barred from attending Saturday’s Misfits Boxing card in Manchester, where Tommy Fury faces strongman Eddie Hall in the main event, after John Fury allegedly had a contractual clause inserted in July banning the former UFC title challenger from any event his son competes at.
Till broke the news himself on Twitter, expressing disbelief at the situation. “Just been informed that I am not allowed to attend the Misfits Boxing event on Saturday [with] Eddie Hall vs. Tommy Fury,” he wrote. “I’ve never heard or seen anything so f*cking ridiculous in my life. Apparently John Fury has it in a contract from July that any event Tommy Fury is a part of, I am not allowed to be at.”
The roots of the dispute stretch back to a planned boxing match between Till and Tommy Fury that was scheduled for early 2025. The bout collapsed after Till stated he would employ “MMA tactics” in the ring, prompting Fury to lay the blame squarely on Till. The fight was never rebooked.
Since the fallout, Till has kept himself busy and productive in combat sports. He scored a knockout over former UFC champion Luke Rockhold in a boxing bout and most recently delivered a highlight-reel finish in his BKFC debut. His motivation for attending Saturday’s card was straightforward — two of his fighters, Matt Floyd and Luke Nevin, are on the undercard.
“Gang of sh*thouses,” Till added. “If you ever wanted proof. I’ve got Matt Floyd fighting on the event who I was going to support and Luke Nevin.”
Misfits Boxing has not publicly responded to Till’s claims ahead of the Manchester event. Till, however, made clear he has no intention of staying away, threatening to attend in disguise. “By the way I’m still turning up on a random ticket with a cap and glasses on so we’ll see,” he said. “You gang of cowards. Cowards the f*cking lot of use.”
Whether Till makes good on that promise — and how Misfits Boxing and the Fury camp respond if he does — is likely to add an unpredictable subplot to an already high-profile card.
