Jean Silva hits championship weight as all 26 fighters clear Noche UFC scales
All 26 fighters made weight for Saturday's Noche UFC card in Las Vegas. Featherweight headliner Jean Silva came in at the championship limit of 145 pounds, while opponent Jose Miguel Delgado weighed in at 145.5 using the non-title allowance.
All 26 fighters successfully made weight for Noche UFC on Friday, setting up a featherweight main event between Jean Silva and Jose Miguel Delgado with no hitches at the scales.
Silva, who trains out of the Fighting Nerds camp, made a pointed statement by hitting the championship weight of exactly 145 pounds despite the bout being a non-title contest. Delgado took the permitted one-pound allowance for non-title fights, coming in at 145.5 pounds.
The fight carries a redemption narrative for Silva. Twelve months ago at Noche UFC, he was stopped by TKO in the main event by Diego Lopes with a featherweight title shot seemingly within reach. He responded with a unanimous decision victory over Arnold Allen in January and is now targeting a return to the top of the 145-pound division.
Delgado, who joined the UFC via the Contender Series in 2024, has wasted little time making his mark, going 4-1 in the octagon in under two years. He stepped in on short notice after Yair Rodriguez withdrew from the originally scheduled main event, and a win over Silva would represent the defining result of his career to date.
In the co-main event, former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno returns to action looking to end a two-fight losing streak against Joseph Morales. Both men came in at 125.5 pounds.
One late change to the card saw the flyweight bout between Tim Elliott and Edgar Chairez converted to a 130-pound catchweight contest before weigh-ins, with both fighters hitting the revised mark.
