Jake Paul targets Michael Page after UFC parts ways with 'MVP' following Paris win

Jake Paul moved quickly to court Michael Page on Wednesday, posting a public message to the fighter just days after the UFC confirmed it would not be renewing Page’s contract following UFC Paris.

Page had defeated Nursulton Ruziboev by unanimous decision in a middleweight bout on the main card at UFC Paris this past Saturday. Despite picking up the win, the fight drew widespread boos from the Paris crowd and left fans and pundits frustrated by the lack of action — a familiar criticism that has followed Page throughout his UFC tenure.

With the bout serving as the final fight on Page’s contract, UFC president Dana White confirmed on Tuesday — following a recent episode of Contender Series — that the promotion would not be re-signing the former Bellator standout.

Paul wasted little time. “Think it’s time to bring MVP to MVP,” he wrote on Twitter, referencing both Page’s long-standing nickname and the name of his soon-to-be-rebranded MMA promotion, MVP MMA.

Page ended his UFC run with a 5-1 record inside the promotion. His only loss came against welterweight title challenger Ian Machado Garry at UFC 303 in June 2024. In response to the online noise surrounding his UFC departure, Page offered a typically understated reply on Instagram — posting a photo of himself pushing a rock with the caption: “Me trying to handle the internet’s opinions.”

Whether Paul’s public overture translates into a formal offer remains to be seen, but the social media exchange has already set the MMA world talking about where Page lands next.
