Injured Sean Brady pulled from UFC Vegas 124 main event, replacement sought for Bonfim
Sean Brady has been forced out of his November 7 main event clash with Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Vegas 124 due to injury. The UFC is now searching for a short-notice replacement for the welterweight bout at the APEX.
Sean Brady will no longer headline UFC Vegas 124 after suffering an injury that has ruled him out of his scheduled welterweight main event against Gabriel Bonfim on November 7 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Sources confirmed Brady’s withdrawal to MMA Fighting on Thursday, following an initial report from journalist Laerte Viana. The nature of the injury has not been disclosed, and the UFC is actively searching for a short-notice replacement to face Bonfim.
The timing is a significant blow for both fighters, who were positioned as credible contenders pushing toward welterweight title contention. Brady (19-2) had entered the bout on the back of a dominant performance over Joaquin Buckley in his most recent outing, while Bonfim (20-1) arrives on a five-fight winning streak that includes a victory over former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad.
With the main event now in flux, the card’s highest-confirmed bout is a strawweight contest between Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba, which serves as the current co-main event.
