Aston Villa is set to sign Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG for an estimated €55 million, including bonuses. According to The Athletic, the two clubs have reached a principle agreement, and the 18-year-old Senegalese international has accepted the contract offered by the Birmingham club, where he is expected in the coming hours to finalize the deal.

Liverpool had also tried their luck for the young Paris winger, but it was ultimately the Villans who secured the signing. Mbaye thus joins the Premier League in the wake of Bradley Barcola, who is also preparing to leave Paris for Liverpool.

The outcome of this transfer presents a delicious paradox: Mbaye will face PSG in the Champions League this season, just a few months after leaving the capital club.
