Isack Hadjar will miss this weekend’s Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, Red Bull confirmed on Monday, extending the Frenchman’s absence to three consecutive races as he continues to recover from a wrist injury.

Liam Lawson will again take Hadjar’s seat in the RB22, partnering Max Verstappen at Red Bull, while Yuki Tsunoda retains his place at Racing Bulls for another grand prix.

“The decision has been taken as Isack’s recovery continues to progress positively,” Red Bull said in a statement. “While he is not yet ready to return to the cockpit, he will be in Madrid supporting the team.”

The update offers some reassurance that Hadjar’s rehabilitation is moving in the right direction, even if the timeline for his return to the cockpit remains unclear. The rookie had been set for his debut season alongside Verstappen before the injury disrupted his campaign.
