Erling Haaland has resurfaced a rap track from his teenage years, releasing a remix of “Kygo jo” — a song he originally recorded in 2016 with then-Bryne teammates Erik Botheim and Erik Tobias under the group name “Flow Kingz” — in collaboration with Norwegian DJ and music producer Kygo.

Haaland posted the audio to Instagram on July 8, captioning it with “made it moment” and asking whether the release made him “officially an artist now.” Kygo, who has worked with Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, and Selena Gomez, co-produced the remix.

The timing is striking. Haaland is currently one of the standout players at the 2026 World Cup, having scored seven goals in four appearances for Norway. He has registered braces in three separate fixtures — against Iraq on June 16, Senegal on June 22, and Brazil on July 5 — though he sat out Norway’s 1-0 group-stage defeat to France on June 26.

Norway advanced from Group I with a 2-0-1 record before eliminating Ivory Coast 2-1 in the round of 32 and Brazil 2-1 in the round of 16. The quarterfinal run is already historic: it marks the first time Norway have reached that stage of a World Cup.

Next for Haaland and Norway is a quarterfinal against England on July 11 at Miami Stadium in Miami, Florida.
