Greenwood Set to Leave: Fenerbahçe and OM Close to Agreement Within 48 Hours

Mason Greenwood is expected to leave Olympique de Marseille during this summer’s transfer window, two years after his arrival in Ligue 1. According to Foot Mercato, Fenerbahçe wants to conclude the transfer of the 24-year-old English striker “within the next 48 hours”.

The Istanbul club has already made an offer, rejected by OM: 30 million euros excluding bonuses. An amount deemed insufficient by Marseille’s management, who value their number 10 higher, estimated at 55 million euros by Transfermarkt.

OM has reasons to want to sell, however. In search of liquidity to reassure the DNCG, the Phocaean club cannot afford to let the matter drag on. Greenwood is under contract until 2029, which theoretically gives Marseille a negotiating lever — but also financial pressure to manage if no agreement is reached this summer.

Arrived at OM in summer 2023 on loan from Manchester United, then permanently recruited, the Englishman delivered two solid seasons on the Canebière. His future is now probably being written in Istanbul, provided the two clubs manage to bridge the gap between the Turkish offer and Marseille’s demands.
